Kazakh chocolate appeared on Duty Free shelves

The family-owned company Qazaqapple, a participant of the Export Acceleration 2025 program, has launched sales of its chocolate candies in the international Duty Free zone at the airport.
“The acceleration program is aimed at supporting export-oriented companies, helping businesses adapt their products to international standards and find new markets. For Qazaqapple, this is the first step into the travel retail segment, where the brand expects to build recognition among foreign tourists,” noted the program operator QazTrade.

In 2025, 120 companies were selected under the Export Acceleration Program. A training program for participants is currently underway. At the same time, work is being carried out to establish contacts with foreign buyers for a number of experienced companies. Experts have been assigned to priority countries, beginning market research, identifying potential clients, and providing consulting support to program participants.

Qazaqapple produces Qazaq Apple chocolate candies, inspired by the Sivers apple (Malus sieversii) — the ancestor of all modern apple varieties, growing in the foothills of Almaty. Scientists have proven that the DNA of this tree laid the foundation for global apple breeding.
“We want Qazaq Apple to become for Kazakhstan what Mozartkugel is for Austria — a symbol of the country and its cultural heritage,” the company commented.

According to QazTrade, the launch in Duty Free is the first step towards international sales. The company expects the product to gain recognition among tourists and contribute to the promotion of the Kazakhstani brand abroad.
