Within the framework of TEM, a Business Forum organized by QazTrade took place. About 150 Iranian manufacturing companies, traders, retail chains, logistics companies took part in the forum.

The official delegation of the Iranian side at the forum was represented by Deputy Minister of Road and Urban Development of Iran and Director General of the Iranian Railway, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture of Iran, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Iran, Deputy Minister of Road and Urban Development of Iran and Director General of the Iranian railroad.

Over two days, Kazakhstani business has held more than 200 B2B meetings. Thus, negotiations were held at the Iran Chamber of Cooperation. RK companies visited the largest retail centers Shahrvand, MAF Pars (Hyperstar), Refah, held meetings with Iranian food buyers. Also, a meeting was held between representatives of Kazakhstani business working in the field of mechanical engineering, with members of the EPC Association (14 large oil companies), as well as with railway companies.

According to Vice Minister of Industry and Trade – Head of the Iranian Trade Assistance Organization Alireza Peyman Pak, the countries of the Eurasian region are a priority of Iran’s foreign trade, and among the countries of Eurasia, Russia and Kazakhstan occupy special positions.

Iranian business has shown the greatest interest in cooperation in the agro-industrial sphere. This is not only about the supply of Kazakh goods to the country’s trade networks, but about the possible creation of export-oriented enterprises in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In addition, Iranian entrepreneurs have expressed interest in feed additives for animals produced by the Kazakhstani enterprise. Also, mechanical engineering and pharmaceuticals became the areas of active discussion of establishing B2B cooperation.

As the Deputy General Director of QazTrade JSC Nuraly Bukeikhanov noted, the Iranian business showed great interest in Kazakhstan goods.

– Covid bans and anti-Iranian prohibitions have significantly reduced Kazakhstani exports to Iran. However, since the beginning of this year, export volumes have begun to gradually recover and there is a huge potential for their increase. This is an indicator that the difficulties in trading, although they are a deterrent, do not stop the processes. We see that there is a great interest in the Iranian market on the part of Kazakhstani business, and on the part of Iran there is an interest in Kazakhstani products. QazTrade will provide maximum assistance in promoting our exports in this direction, – said Bukeikhanov.

For two days of TEM operation in Iran, contracts were signed for $ 6 million.

The business of the two countries agreed to continue negotiations in the online format.

Also, Kazakh entrepreneurs were invited to present their products at a technology exhibition in Tehran.
