Placement of domestic companies on the Alibaba electronic platform

As part of the first phase in 2020, 50 companies received accounts and mini-sites on the Alibaba platform. Twice a month companies also participated in training webinars on how to work and promote products on the platform. Since January 2020 the operator paid for companies Alibaba accounts, companies passed verification and received created mini-sites upon submission of documents. The operator of the first phase was the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken”.

Most of the requests were received from China, Germany, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and other countries. Requests were mainly about food products such as honey, cereals, meat, butter, etc.

It should be noted that this tool has already shown its effectiveness. To date, agreements for the sale of products amounted to about US $ 18.1 million. Kazakhstan’s companies have received over 500 inquiries for their goods.

The QazTrade JSC was selected as an operator of the second phase.

Within the second phase of the project, the QazTrade developed the Rules for the selection of Kazakhstan’s organizations (manufacturers and trading companies) that  will be provided with accounts with the “Gold Supplier” status on the Alibaba.com platform (hereinafter referred to as the Rules). The Rules and its annexes defined the purposes and procedure for selection of companies and regulations on the work of the Working Commission carrying out the selection, as well as qualification requirements, according to which Kazakhstan’s companies have been selected. The rules were posted on October 7 in Kazakh and Russian on the export.gov.kz portal.

On November 4, a meeting of the Working Commission for the selection of Kazakhstan’s companies (manufacturers and trading companies) was held, at which the list of Kazakhstan’s companies (manufacturers and trading companies) that will be provided with the “Gold Supplier” accounts on the Alibaba platform was approved. 

50 accounts “Gold supplier” (Standard account) were purchased for Kazakhstan’s companies that passed the selection. The companies passed that verification procedure and received the account keys. After passing the preliminary selection, the companies received service support and Gold Supplier status on the Alibaba.com marketplace. 

For Kazakhstan’s companies that passed the selection 50 profiles were created on the Alibaba platform. The Working Group provides daily consultations for applicants on all matters related to trading on the Alibaba.com. At the moment, there is already an export contract for the supply of bran to Mongolia worth 230 thousand US dollars.
