QazTrade and the Islamic Organization for Food Security signed a Memorandum of Understanding, joining efforts to promote Kazakhstani exports to the markets of Islamic countries.
Recently, the “QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center” JSC and the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation in trade and food security.
The Memorandum provides for the development of partnership in ensuring food resilience, exchange of experience and information, joint promotion of Kazakhstani products in international markets, as well as the launch of projects in trade, processing, and logistics.
IOFS unites 57 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and is a key international platform for food security and agricultural cooperation. Kazakhstan, in turn, hosts the headquarters of IOFS.
The signing of the Memorandum opens new export opportunities for Kazakhstan, including markets in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, while also promoting domestic products such as grains, meat and dairy, oil and fat, and processed goods.
Speaking at the ceremony, His Excellency Berik Aryng emphasized: “This partnership reflects IOFS’s commitment to using trade as a driver of sustainable food systems and to supporting Kazakhstan’s role as the host country and a strategic partner of the Organization.”
“QazTrade is ready to work hand in hand with IOFS to unlock new opportunities for the export of Kazakhstani agri-food products, strengthen value chains, and expand access to regional and international markets,” said QazTrade CEO Aitmukhamed Aldazharov.
This cooperation has become another important milestone in IOFS’s mission to enhance food security and foster intra-trade among OIC countries, delivering tangible benefits for producers, traders, and consumers.
