Kazakhstan and Iran Aim to Increase Trade Turnover to USD 3 Billion

QazTrade held a B2B session with the participation of 200 companies, including 74 Iranian business representatives interested in developing trade relations with Kazakh companies.

Today, within the framework of the Kazakhstan-Iran Business Forum, a bilateral meeting took place between business representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The event was organized by QazTrade, the national export development operator, with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan and the Embassy of Iran in Kazakhstan.

QazTrade CEO Aitmukhammed Aldazharov stated:
“The signing of the agreement to establish the Kazakhstan Trade House in Tehran is not just a symbolic move but a practical tool for promoting our products on the Iranian market. We are building a permanent infrastructure that will support daily exports. The B2B format demonstrated strong business engagement — over 250 meetings were held in just one day. The presence of Iran’s Minister of Agriculture confirms the IRI’s strategic interest in Kazakh goods, especially in the agro-industrial sector.”

QazTrade expressed gratitude to the Iranian Meat Industry Association and personally to Masoud Rasouli for their contribution to strengthening partnerships. The parties are discussing the launch of joint meat-processing facilities, logistics development, and institutional cooperation. A memorandum was signed with Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO), and a permanent QazTrade representative is operating in Tehran.

“Today’s session is not a one-time event but part of a systemic platform. I am confident it brings us closer to the strategic goal — increasing mutual trade to $3 billion,” emphasized Aldazharov.

Over the past year, Kazakhstan has taken several active steps to strengthen economic ties with Iran. In February, a trade and economic mission was held in Tehran, involving over 50 Kazakh exporters from 14 regions. According to QazTrade, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Iran in January–April 2025 amounted to $173.5 million, which is a 79.1% increase compared to the same period last year ($96.9 million).
