Kazakhstan has taken a breakthrough step in expanding food exports to the U.S. market. The first batches are already being sold on Amazon. A total of 50 tons of wheat flour under the Eurasian Legacy brand have been delivered to New York. The initial shipment was organized by Kazakh entrepreneur Samat Umirzakov with the support of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in New York. This is the first major export case implemented under the new strategy to promote national goods in the U.S. Going forward, with the support of the national export operator QazTrade under the Ministry of Trade and Integration, the supply volumes are expected to increase to more than 100 tons of flour per month.
The product has already been placed on major online platforms such as Amazon and Walmart, and is also presented in several U.S. bakeries. On Amazon, it is sold at $14.50 per 1.36 kg package. The packaging carries the label “Product of Kazakhstan,” which enhances recognition of the “Made in Kazakhstan” brand among American consumers and promotes Kazakhstan’s image as a supplier of high-quality and eco-friendly products.
In addition to online sales, negotiations are underway to supply flour to restaurants, coffee shops, and local food chains. Opportunities are also being considered to enter major U.S. retail networks such as Costco, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s, according to QazTrade.
Kazakhstan’s entry into the American market became possible thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in New York and Kazakh entrepreneurs. It should be noted that in July, QazTrade opened its representative office in the U.S., which will also actively contribute to developing this direction.
“We are not limited to flour alone. Buckwheat, granola, talqan, chocolate, and cocoa have already been introduced in the U.S., and partners in New York, Chicago, and Washington had the opportunity to personally assess their quality. The logical next step will be a business mission of Kazakh producers to these cities. This is a chance not only to strengthen partnerships but also to enter the HoReCa segment, where natural and authentic products are highly valued,” said QazTrade CEO Aitmukhamed Aldazharov.
If permanent contracts are signed, regular deliveries of more than 100 tons of flour per month are planned. This will allow Kazakhstan to secure a significant position in the U.S. grain products market, where demand for natural and certified goods is traditionally high.
