Kazakh honey is entering the European market.
Two major Hungarian companies have expressed interest in cooperating with Kazakh honey producers.
At the QazTrade office, the CEO of the national export promotion operator, Aitmukhamed Aldazharov, held talks with representatives of these companies. Aranynektár Kft, operating since 2001, processes and exports up to 4,000 tons of honey annually to the EU, the Middle East, and Asia. The company highlighted the high quality and naturalness of Kazakh honey and expressed readiness to consider purchases.
A separate meeting was held with Fulmer Hungarian Honey Ltd, a family-owned company with nearly a century of beekeeping history. Today, Fulmer manages Europe’s largest organic apiary and exports products to nearly 40 countries. CEO Ferenc Fulmer emphasized the company’s interest in the rare varieties of Kazakh honey, its rich aroma, and environmentally clean origin.
“We see great potential in exporting Kazakh honey as a niche, eco-friendly product that can secure a strong position in Europe. All these results became possible thanks to QazTrade’s systematic work and new approach in cooperation with Hungary. A trade and economic mission supported by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration has already been held in the country, and today a partner office of the national operator is operating there, ensuring direct interaction with local companies and support for Kazakh producers,” said Aitmukhamed Aldazharov.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties discussed the purchase of the first batch of about 20 tons of specialty honey. Currently, more than 80 samples are undergoing laboratory testing in Hungary, with results expected within two weeks.
Kazakh honey producers — Madi Farm and Bunkov’s Apiary — also took part in the talks. They are participants of the state Export Acceleration Program 2025.
QazTrade noted that these are the first direct contacts with Hungarian processors and an important step in promoting Kazakh honey to the EU market. In 2024, Kazakhstan’s honey trade turnover amounted to $1.58 million, which is 57.2% higher than the previous year. Today, Kazakh honey is already being exported to Uzbekistan, China, Canada, the USA, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and several other markets.
