Regional Export Council meeting held in East Kazakhstan Region

A regular meeting of the Regional Export Council was held in East Kazakhstan Region with the participation of export-oriented companies, Deputy Akim of the Region Shakarym Bugtugutov, General Director of «QazTrade» JSC Azamat Askaruly and representatives of KazakhExport and DBK.

General Director of «QazTrade» Azamat Askaruly presented to the exporting enterprises of the region new possibilities of the «single window» for exporters and told about the measures planned by the state to support exports.

«Today QazTrade is an operator for the development and promotion of non-resource exports. The Company concentrates almost all tools of non-financial support for producers of domestic products, from diagnosing the company and assessing its export capabilities to providing high-quality analytics and consulting services. In addition, since this year, the Company is also engaged in reimbursement of exporters’ costs» – Askaruly said.

The main task of Regional Export Councils is to establish direct contact between representatives of the business community and authorized state bodies and export development institutes, which makes it possible to respond promptly to all arising problematic situations.

Representatives of QazTrade presented in detail available tools of support (reimbursement of part of the cost of export, export acceleration, introduction of electronic trading platforms) of domestic entrepreneurs and discussed problematic issues on export issues.

Exporters of the region are already actively cooperating with QazTrade and take advantage of support measures. In 2019-2020, four companies of the region («Sun-Bee Altai» LLP, «Global invest International» LLP, Paseka peasant farming and altay honey peasant farming) received a «Gold Account» on the Alibaba platform, and one company («Kondiz Distribution» LLP) became a participant in the Export Acceleration Program. In 2020, 18 exporting companies of the region received reimbursement of part of export costs in the amount of 224 million tenge.

East Kazakhstan region is one of the industrially developed regions of the country. The basic branch of the economy is non-ferrous metallurgy, as well as developed mechanical engineering and metal working, energy, timber and woodworking, light and food industries. The region’s trade turnover with partner countries at the end of last year was about 5.0 billion USD. This is an increase of 10.6% over the previous year. Exports grew by 19.6% over the year, while imports remained virtually unchanged (2.1 billion USD). Manufacturing exports increased 29.5% to 1.8 billion. USD.
