Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia in January-June 2020 amounted to $ 8.1 billion, which is 10.6% lower than in the same period of the previous year (9.0 billion USD).

Exports from Kazakhstan to Russia in January – June 2020 decreased by 20.4% and amounted to $ 2.1 billion. US dollars.

The reduction in exports to Russia is justified by a decrease in the supply of such goods as: non-alloyed steel hot flat-rolled articles – by 47.9% or by 97.5 million US dollars  (from 203.6 to 106.1 million US dollars ), iron-and-steel waste and scrap – by 66.8% or by 69.3 million US dollars  (from 103.7 to 34.4 million US dollars ), raw zinc – by 59.4% or 45.3 million US dollars  (from 76.3 to 30.9 million US dollars ), iron ores and concentrates – by 15.1% or 42.8 million US dollars  (from 283.1 to 240.3 million US dollars ), natural gas – by 38.8% or 40.9 million US dollars  (from 105.3 to 64.4 million US dollars).

At the same time, there is an increase in the supply of such goods as: ores and precious metal concentrates – by 89.3% or by 102.8 million US dollars  (from 115.1 to 217.9 million US dollars ), components of rolling stock – an increase by 4.5 times or by 51.9 million US dollars  (from 14.9 to 66.8 million US dollars), zinc ores and concentrates – by 68.3% or by 20.9 million US dollars  (from 30.6 to 51.5 million US dollars ), plastic waste, cuttings and scrap – an increase by 13.3 times or 12.9 million US dollars  (from 1.0 to 13.9 million US dollars ), titanium and articles thereof – an increase by 2.2 times or 7.3 million US dollars  (from 5.9 to 13.2 million US dollars).

The main export goods from Kazakhstan to Russia are: iron ores and concentrates – 240.3 million US dollars  (from a share of 11.4%), ores and precious metal concentrates  – 217.9 million US dollars (10.3%), copper ores and concentrates – 154.3 million US dollars  (7.3%), uranium – 119.3 million US dollars  (5.7%), non-alloyed steel clad flat-rolled articles – 114.3 million US dollars  (5.4%), non-alloyed steel hot flat-rolled articles – 106.1 million US dollars  (5%), hard coal – 93.1 million US dollars  (4.4%), non-alloyed steel cold flat-rolled articles- 77 million US dollars  (3.7%), rolling stock components – 66.8 million US dollars  (3.2%), natural gas – 64.4 million US dollars  (3.1%)

Imports to Kazakhstan from Russia in January – June 2020 decreased by 6.6% and amounted to $ 6.0 billion US dollars.

The reduction in imports from Russia is justified by a decrease in the supply such goods as: freight railroad carriages or tram cars – by 68.2% or by 74.8 million US dollars  (from 109.7 to 34.9 million US dollars ), ferrous welded tubes and pipes – by 68.6% or 61.9 million US dollars  (from 90.1 to 28.3 million US dollars ), passenger cars – by 26% or 49.3 million US dollars  (from 189.2 to 139.9 million US dollars ), trucks – by 79.6% or 43.4 million US dollars  (from 54.5 to 11.1 million US dollars ), seamless pipes, tubes and  profiles of ferrous metals – by 31.8% or 36.4 million US dollars  (from 114.3 to 77.9 million US dollars ), non-self-propelled railway carriages or tram cars – by 99.6% or by 25 million US dollars  (from 25.1 to 0.1 million US dollars ), natural gas – by 11.1% or 23 million US dollars  (from 207.9 to 184.9 million US dollars).

At the same time, there is an increase in imports of such goods as: gold (including gold with platinum electroplating) raw or semi-finished or in powder form – by 56.4% or by 45.3 million US dollars (from $ 80.2 to 125.5 million US dollars) ), car bodies – 66% or 34.4 million US dollars  (from 52.1 to 86.5 million US dollars ), tobacco and tobacco substitutes, tobacco extracts and essences – an increase by 2.1 times or 33.3 million US dollars  (from 31.3 to 64.6 million US dollars ), oil products – by 22.6% or 31.9 million US dollars  (from 141.2 to 173.2 million US dollars ), rapeseed – an increase by 14.3 times or 28.1 million US dollars  (from 2.1 to 30.2 million US dollars).

The main imports to Kazakhstan from Russia are: natural gas – $ 184.9 million USD  (from a share of 3.1%), oil products – 173.2 million US dollars  (2.9%), passenger cars – 139.9 million US dollars USD (2.3%), gold (including gold plated with platinum), raw or semi-finished, or in powder form – 125.5 million US dollars  (2.1%), precious metal ores and concentrates – 117.6 million US dollars  (2%), semi-finished non-alloy steel articles – 103 million US dollars  (1.7%), tires – $ 97.4 million  (1.6%), coke and semi-coke – 92.4 million US dollars  (1.5%).
