The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in January-July 2020 amounted to 418.1 million US dollars,  , which is 17.9% lower than in the same period of the previous year (509.1 million US dollars ).

Exports from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan in January – July 2020 decreased by 16.4% and amounted to 288.6 million US dollars.

The decrease in exports to Kyrgyzstan is justified by a decrease in the supply of such goods as: wheat – by 66.9% or by 11.8 million US dollars  (from 17.6 to 5.8 million US dollars ), oil products – by 25.6% or by 8.6 million US dollars  (from 33.6 to 25.0 million US dollars ), other railway locomotives – by 100% or by 7,6 million US dollars  (from 7.6 to 0.0 million US dollars ), tobacco products – by 24.4% or by 6.4 million US dollars  (from 26.4 to 20.0 million US dollars ), coke and petroleum bitumen – by 99.9% or 4.6 million US  dollars  (from 4.6 to 0.0 million US dollars ).

At the same time, there is an increase in the supply of such goods as: wheat flour – by 96.6% or by 6.2 million US dollars.  (from 6.4 to 12.6 million US dollars ), bituminous coal – by 86.6%, or 4.9 million US dollars.  (from 5.6 to 10.5 million US dollars ), trucks – an increase by 3.6 times or by 2.4 million US dollars (from 0.9 to 3.3 million US dollars ), consoles, panels, tables for electrical equipment – an increase by 10.5 times or by 2.3 million US dollars (from 0.2 to 2.6 million US dollars ), cement – by 21.1% or 2 million US dollars (from 9.5 to 11.5 million US dollars ).

The main export goods from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan are: natural gas – 25.2 million US dollars   (with a share of 8.7%), oil products – 25 million US dollars  (8.7%), tobacco products – 20 million US dollars  (6.9%), wheat flour – 12,6 million US dollars  (4.4%), waters, including mineral and carbonated ones, with sugar – 12.2 million US dollars  (4.2%), cement – 11.5 million US dollars  (4%), hard coal – 10.5 million US dollars  (3.6%), hygiene items for women and children – 9.9 million US dollars  (3.4%), non-alloyed steel clad flat-rolled articles – 6.4 million US dollars  (2.2%), wheat – 5.8 million US dollars  (2%) More detailed information on the main exported goods to Kyrgyzstan for the period January – July 2020 is shown in Table 1.

Imports to Kazakhstan from Kyrgyzstan in January-July 2020 decreased by 21% and amounted to 129.5 million US dollars.

The reduction in imports from Kyrgyzstan is justified by a decrease in the import of such goods as: ores and other concentrates – by 100% or by 8,5 million US dollars  (from 8.5 to 0.0 million US dollars ), shoes with genuine leather uppers – 100% or 7 million US dollars  (from 7.0 to 0.0 million US dollars ), components of rolling stock – by 86.2% or by 5.2 million US dollars  (from 6.1 to 0.8 million US dollars ), unglazed ceramic tiles – by 68.2% or by 2.6 million US dollars (from 2.9 to 1.2 million US dollars ), polished glass – by 28.9%, or 2.6 million US dollars  (from 9.1 to 6.4 million US dollars ), oil products – by 68.6% or by 1.9 million US dollars  (from 2.8 to 0.9 million US dollars ), men’s textile shirts – by 100%, or by 1,6 million US dollars  (from 1.6 to 0.0 million US dollars).

At the same time, there is an increase in imports of such goods as: ores and precious metal concentrates – by 4,8% or by 2,7 million US dollars  (from 56.5 to 59.2 million US dollars ), cheese and cottage cheese – an increase by 3.8 times or by 2 million US dollars  (from 0.7 to 2.8 million US dollars ), condensed and dried milk and cream – an increase by 4.2 times or by 2 million US dollars  (from 0.6 to 2.6 million US dollars ), tires – an increase by 14.1 times or by 1.6 million US dollars  (from 0.1 to 1.8 million US dollars ), seamless ferrous pipes, tubes and profiles – by 94.1% or by 1.2 million US dollars  (from 1.3 to 2.4 million US dollars ).The main import goods to Kazakhstan from Kyrgyzstan are: ores and precious metal concentrates – 59.2 million US dollars  (with a share of 45.7%), bread and pastry, flour confectionery products – 6.8 million US dollars  (5.2%), polished glass – 6.4 million US dollars  (5%), plastic containers – 6.2 million US dollars  (4.8%), cheeses and cottage cheese – 2,8 million US dollars  (2.1%), condensed and dried milk and cream –  2,6 million US dollars  (2%), seamless pipes, tubes and profiles made of ferrous metals – 2.4 million US dollars  (1.9%), lighting equipment – 2.4 million US dollars  (1.9%).
