Today, November 30, 2021, the first groupage cargo in a container was sent from the Almaty station to the China. This was the first dispatch of a new logistics product for the delivery of small consignments to China, launched by «QazTrade» JSC in cooperation with «KTZ Express» JSC.
The first 40-foot container contains export consignments of 3 companies.
The method of groupage transportation in containers (LCL – Less Container Load, partial container load) will be available to small and medium-sized manufacturers-exporters sending small consignments of cargo. It was a response to the difficulties caused by quarantine measures in the delivery of small consignments to the China. The tightening of quarantine measures by the Chinese side, as well as the priority of sending its own export cargo in transit through the territory of Kazakhstan to the EU and Central Asian countries, are the cause of problems for Kazakh entrepreneurs with the shipment of goods by road and rail. In addition, there are severe restrictions on air travel.
LCL (Less Container Load, partial container loading) – type of transportation in which the shipper reserves only a part or a separate place in the container. With this method, the container is loaded with groupage cargo: in batches of goods for different recipients. The main idea of the LCL service is that if the exporter does not have enough cargo for the whole container, then there is an opportunity to carry out transportation together with other shippers in one container.
LCL transportation allows you to reduce shipping costs and transport as much as the exporter needs without overpaying. Thus, the developed LCL service offers a cost that is 1.5-2 times lower than existing methods, with a minimum delivery time of 7 days. Also, the advantages of this type of transportation include: reliable protection of goods from environmental influences; minimum packaging requirements, as well as a significant simplification of loading and unloading operations at transfer points. The exporter does not need to reload cargo from wagon to wagon or from one car to another at the border, the container is simply rearranged from the Kazakh to the Chinese fitting platform. Delivery from Xi’an is already possible to anywhere in China. In this case, the client will be provided with the entire list of necessary services, including brokerage.
Today, the transport and logistics system are the main tool in promoting the export of Kazakh goods. In the world market of transport and logistics services, a characteristic feature of recent years, despite the general decline in traffic and the global economic crisis, has become the demand for groupage cargo in containers, as the most reliable and cheapest ways to deliver goods.
