Aidar Abildabekov was born in 1970.
He graduated from E. Buketov Karaganda State University and the Kazakh Engineering and Pedagogical University of Peoples’ Friendship with a degree in Law.
Career
In 1996, he began his professional career, engaging in entrepreneurial activities in the trade sector.
1998-2009 – worked in the customs authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan as inspector, senior inspector, chief inspector, deputy head of the customs post, and head of department.
2009-2010 – Head of the Department of Statistics, Deputy Head of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics.
From November 2010 to 2013 – Head of the Department of Statistics of South Kazakhstan Region, Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics.
2013-2018 – Head of the Department of Statistics of South Kazakhstan Region, Committee on Statistics, Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2018-2021 – Head of the Department of Statistics of Turkestan Region, Committee on Statistics, Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2021-2022 – Head of the Department of Statistics of Almaty city, Bureau of National Statistics, ASPIR RK.
Since January 2022 – Deputy Chairman of the Trade Committee, Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan; from November 2022 to July 2023 – Acting Chairman of the Trade Committee, MTI RK.
From July 2023 to August 2025 – Chairman of the Trade Committee, MTI RK.
Since August 2025 – Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
