KAZAKHSTAN–KENYA BUSINESS FORUM: NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXPANDING TRADE AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION
On May 20, 2026, the Kazakhstan–Kenya Business Forum was held in Astana at the premises of the Astana International Financial Centre. The event aimed to develop bilateral trade and economic cooperation, expand investment partnerships, and strengthen direct business-to-business connections between entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan and Kenya.
The forum was organized by the JSC “Center for Development of Trade Policy “QazTrade” (QazTrade JSC) with the support of key government bodies and development institutions of both countries. The event served as an important international platform to discuss cooperation prospects in trade, logistics, digital transformation, and investment.
The forum brought together representatives of government agencies and development institutions of Kazakhstan and Kenya, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Investment Committee, as well as KAZAKH INVEST, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken”, KEPROBA (Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency), Invest Kenya, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), and representatives of the financial and logistics sectors of both countries.During the plenary session, participants discussed the current state and future prospects of Kazakhstan–Kenya trade and economic relations, expansion of export opportunities, and the role of digital infrastructure and fintech solutions in developing international trade.
Special attention was given to transport and logistics connectivity as a key factor in improving trade flows between the regions. Experts and business representatives emphasized the importance of developing sustainable logistics routes and simplifying trade procedures.
As part of the business program, QazTrade JSC organized B2B meetings between Kazakh and Kenyan companies. This format allowed participants to directly discuss potential supplies, joint projects, and conditions for entering new markets.
One of the key highlights of the forum was the ceremony of exchanging signed cooperation documents between development institutions and business organizations of both countries, including:
QazTrade JSC and KEPROBA;
KAZAKH INVEST and Invest Kenya;
Atameken NCE and KNCCI;
AGU and FSA.
The signed memoranda aim to strengthen institutional cooperation, develop export potential, and create a sustainable platform for expanding trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Kenya.
At the closing session, the CEO of QazTrade JSC delivered an official statement, noting:
“QazTrade JSC is consistently developing Kazakhstan’s international trade relations, creating new opportunities for exporters and strengthening partnerships with foreign countries. Such platforms enable businesses to directly find partners and access new markets.”
The Kazakhstan–Kenya Business Forum marked another important step in strengthening international economic cooperation and expanding export opportunities for Kazakh companies.
