A Kazakhstani delegation led by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Abzal Saparbekuly, held a series of negotiations with Hungarian investors in the city of Debrecen. During the official visit, meetings were held with representatives of the business and municipal community, including leading Hungarian entrepreneurs interested in developing cooperation.

The organization and coordination of all meetings were ensured by QazTrade’s representative office in Hungary.
“In the first six months of 2025, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Hungary amounted to 133.4 million US dollars — 34.5% more than last year. Our exports grew 2.7 times, reaching 6.9 million US dollars, mainly due to mineral fertilizers, poultry products, industrial oils, and fish fillets. Imports from Hungary also increased — by 30.8%, to 126.5 million US dollars. We mainly import agricultural machinery, medicines, live cattle, poultry, electrical equipment, and canned goods. The trade balance, as usual, is negative — minus 119.6 million, because imports exceed exports,” said Ainur Amirbekova, Deputy CEO of QazTrade.
“Such visits make it possible to establish a direct export dialogue between Kazakhstani businesses and potential partners in Hungary. We see genuine interest in the agricultural sector, processing, and joint projects, and QazTrade’s task is to help these initiatives move into the stage of concrete agreements and actual export deliveries,” said Alisher Papp, QazTrade’s Trade Representative in Hungary and Head of the QazTrade Partnership Office, together with his assistants.
The program began with a trip to the settlement of Feldes, where the delegation held talks with the management of Özse Group. Discussions focused on investment plans in Kazakhstan, including the construction of a poultry farm, a cattle-breeding farm, and the development of agricultural land.
A meeting was also held with representatives of Agropoint Kft., who expressed interest in implementing a livestock project. In the future, it is proposed to establish cooperation with the country’s agricultural institutes at the site, accept students for internships, and provide training in modern methods of crop production, livestock farming, poultry farming, and other agricultural areas.
The new project is intended to combine best practices, innovative technologies, and educational programs to foster the development of Kazakhstan’s agricultural potential and strengthen scientific and educational ties between the two countries.
In addition, during the visit, the companies Zolend, offering engineering solutions for the petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries, and Pizza D’oro, an international pizza producer interested in exporting to Kazakhstan and Russia with a prospect of localizing production, were presented.
QazTrade organized a meeting at Debrecen City Hall with Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa. The main focus was on expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Hajdu-Bihar region.
Following the visit, the parties expressed interest in developing direct investment ties and expanding cooperation in the agricultural and processing sectors.
