Kazakhstan and Cyprus Expand Opportunities for Trade and Economic Cooperation
On June 3, as part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, to the Republic of Kazakhstan, a meeting was held between representatives of government institutions and business communities of the two countries.
During the event, the Managing Director of QazTrade JSC presented the key areas of the company’s activities aimed at developing and promoting Kazakhstan’s non-resource exports. Participants were introduced to state support measures for exporters, tools for identifying foreign partners, opportunities offered by the Export Acceleration Program, and mechanisms for promoting domestic products in international markets.
Particular attention was paid to the prospects for enhancing trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Cyprus, expanding export opportunities for Kazakhstani companies, and strengthening business ties between the entrepreneurial communities of the two countries.
Following the negotiations between the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, a number of interagency documents aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation were exchanged in the presence of the two Heads of State.
The parties signed Memoranda of Understanding in the fields of information and communication technologies, e-government, space activities and cybersecurity, culture, education and science, as well as sports.
In addition, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Foreign Trade Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The document provides for the development of business contacts, strengthening investment cooperation, and expanding interaction between the business communities of the two countries.
The development of partnership between Kazakhstan and Cyprus creates additional opportunities for expanding trade and economic relations, attracting investment, and promoting Kazakhstani goods and services in international markets.
