In the Center of trade policy development of QazTrade of MTI RK a meeting was held in online mode with the representative of foodstuffs producers to discuss the obstacles to sale Kazakhstan’s goods in foreign markets.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Association of Egg Producers, “Milk Union of Kazakhstan” ALE, “Union of Food Enterprises of Kazakhstan” ALE and “Kurochka Ryaba” LLP.
Opening the meeting, General Director of QazTrade Arman Abenov noted that such workshops allow identifying “pain points” in the export of finished products and taking timely measures to eliminate them.
Executive Director of the Association of Egg Producers of Kazakhstan Svetlana Chaplinskaya reported that Kazakh producers of eggs this year have decreased due to a pandemic and quarantine restrictions in some countries exports to half the level of 2019 against to the last one. “We are ready to supply for export,” she said. – We completely cover demand in the domestic market, and the surplus is ready for supplies abroad. But we have a problem not related to COVID-19.“
According to her, the implementation of long-term contracts with Afghanistan is hampered by the restrictions imposed by Uzbekistan on the transit of eggs. Chaplinskaya has appealed to QazTrade and the Ministry of Trade and with a request to help in the negotiations with Tashkent.
In general, as noted in the Association of Egg Producers, Kazakhstani companies are ready to enter new export markets: Kuwait, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Eastern European countries. “There are volumes for contracts,” the Associations noted.
QazTrade has expressed its readiness to provide support to enter for manufacturers into new markets. In particular, through the mechanism of export acceleration.
The meeting participants also discussed the introduction of mandatory labeling of dairy products, the expansion of the range of export products to the Chinese market, as well as the forecast of egg prices in the autumn-winter season, taking into account the bird flu in the border regions of the Russian Federation and the plague of birds in a number of settlements in Northern Kazakhstan.
