The foreign trade turnover of the Almaty region in 2020 amounted to USD 3.1 billion. It should be noted that over 5 years, external trade increased by 78.5%. The region’s exports are characterized by a high degree of diversification. So, over the past 5 years, the volume of exports of agricultural products has grown 7.5 times (from 8.7 million US dollars in 2015), in the manufacturing industry by 43% (from 258.4 million US dollars in 2015). g.). The export of products from the mining sector increased by 32.4% (from 7.1 million in 2015).

There are 81 active exporters in the Almaty region. The main volume of exports falls on neighboring countries such as Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. In the structure of exports, the main share is occupied by batteries, cigarettes, flour, pasta and fish fillets.

Exporters of the region are actively using QazTrade support measures. So, in 2020, 24 enterprises of the region received reimbursement of part of the costs in the amount of 565 million tenge, in the first half of 2021, another 6 companies received support in the amount of 370 million tenge (Intelservice LLP, IP Hamle Company LTD LLP, PO UNILUX LLP, Kainar-AKB LLP, TK Metakon LLP, Kelun-Kazpharm LLP). 10 companies (BEVER) LLP, Syrat LLP, Sintez-KZ Medical Holding LLP, INTELLPACK FE, High-Strength Cable Pipe Plant LLP, ADILI TEXTIL LLP, Lepsinsk Onimi LLP, BIO elite LLP, Biotech Karal LLP, RuMa Farm LLP) and 5 companies became participants in the export accelerator QazTrade Accelerator (Mareven Food Tien Shan LLP , LLP “Lepsinsk Onimі”, LLP “Rybprom”, LLP “ARBA WINE”, LLP “Meat Processing and Service”).

QazTrade employees reported on the possibilities of obtaining both reimbursement of part of the costs of exporters, and about non-financial support measures for manufacturers of domestic products: from diagnosing the company and assessing its export capabilities to providing high-quality analytics and consulting services.

“In 2021, QazTrade will carry out large-scale work to change the format of work and master new areas of activity. So, within the framework of the second stage of the Export Acceleration Program this year, another 100 enterprises of various sectors of the economy will be selected, which will be able to undergo in-depth education and training, as well as present their products on the world stage. In addition, on June 15, the acceptance of applications for Alibaba Gold Accounts for 50 domestic companies began. It should be noted that according to the results of the first phase, export earnings of 45 million US dollars were received. ”, – Askaruly informed.

It should be noted that on July 1, the acceptance of applications for participation in the second stage of the QazTrade Export Acceleration Program started. This is a unique program that helps promising non-resource businesses to effectively enter export markets. This year, the Program covers 5 target markets, such as the UAE, Russia, China, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, and 5 sectors of the economy (food, light, chemical, mechanical engineering, and the service sector). Within the framework of the Program, it is planned to select 100 finalist companies. The application can be submitted until July 30 on the website export.gov.kz. In addition, within the framework of a visit to the Almaty region, QazTrade representatives and a USAID project consultant visited 9 export-oriented enterprises in the region and carried out explanatory work on measures of state support for exports, as well as information support on potential opportunities for exporting Kazakhstani processed products to foreign markets. Within the framework of the meetings, entrepreneurs of the region asked a lot of questions on removing barriers, restrictions and obstacles at the local level that hinder the development and promotion of exports. At the same time, there was an active discussion on improving the procedures for obtaining reimbursement of part of the costs.
