QazTrade and Astana HUB will jointly promote IT services for export

“QazTrade” and “International Park for IT Startups Astana HUB” signed a Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation in the field of promotion of domestic IT developments to foreign markets, as well as the development of e-commerce in Kazakhstan.

The signing ceremony took place during the fourth Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable (KGIR 2021), dedicated to the thirtieth anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As Azamat Askaruly, General Director of QazTrade JSC, commented, the document is aimed at joint work of the two companies to increase the export of services.

– President Tokayev announced an important task – to nurture and strengthen the modern IT sector while ensuring its competitiveness in international markets. By 2025, the volume of exports of services and goods of the digital industry should reach at least 500 million dollars – and this is how much the current potential for increasing exports of the IT sector is estimated. QazTrade is a key operator for measures to support Kazakhstan’s exports. And we have agreed with Astana HUB that we will work together to explore foreign markets,” A.Askaruly noted.

In addition, one of the areas of cooperation will be joint work on the development of e-commerce in Kazakhstan.

The event has been held annually since 2017 under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and has established itself as an effective dialogue platform between the state and the international business community. To date, QazTrade has begun work on supporting export-oriented IT projects. This year, 10 IT companies participate in the export acceleration program, which have passed the scoring selection of international experts and have the highest export potential to enter the markets of the UAE and Uzbekistan. Seven of them intend to enter the UAE market.
