The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the EEU countries in January – April 2020 amounted to 5.7 billion us dollars, which is 9.3% lower than in the same period of the previous year (6.3 billion US dollars). Exports to the EEU decreased by 16.5% to $ 1.6 billion. Imports decreased by 6.1% to $ 4.1 billion.

The trade turnover of Kazakhstan with the Eurasian economic Union in the context of countries:

  • Russia (92.6% of the total trade turnover with the EEU) – 5.3 billion us dollars;
  • Kyrgyzstan (3.9%) – us $ 223.7 million;
  • Belarus (3.4%) – us $ 191.4 million;
  • Armenia (0.1%) – 4.4 million US dollars.

The main export products of Kazakhstan to the EEU countries: iron ores and concentrates – 173 million us dollars (with a share of 10.8%), ores and concentrates of precious metals – 155.9 million us dollars (9.7%), copper ores and concentrates – 124.6 million us dollars (7.8%), uranium – 75.1 million us dollars (4.7%), coal – 74.5 million US dollars (4.6%), flat rolled non – alloy steel clad-72.9 million US dollars (4.5%).

Kazakhstan’s exports to the EEU by country:

  • Russia (88.5% of all exports to the EEU) – 1.4 billion us dollars;
  • Kyrgyzstan (9.9%) – us $ 159.7 million;
  • Belarus (1.4%) – us $ 22.5 million;
  • Armenia (0.2%) – us $ 2.4 million.

The main imports of Kazakhstan from the EEU countries: natural gas – 169.7 million us dollars (with a share of 4.2%), petroleum products – 103.5 million us dollars (2.5%), ores and concentrates of precious metals – 101.8 million us dollars (2.5%), passenger cars – 92.7 million us dollars (2.3%), coke and semi – coke-73.9 million us dollars (1.8%).

Kazakhstan’s imports to the EEU by country:

  • Russia (94.2% of all imports from the EEU) – 3.8 billion us dollars;
  • Belarus (4.1%) – us $ 168.8 million;
  • Kyrgyzstan (1.6%) – 64.0 million us dollars;
  • Armenia (0.1%) – 2.0 million US dollars.
