How Kazakhstan Is Redrawing the Logistics Map of Eurasia — Presented in Hong Kong

A Kazakhstani delegation led by QazTrade Managing Director Ainur Amirbekova took part in one of Asia’s largest logistics conferences ALMAC 2025, held in Hong Kong. The forum brought together more than 2,300 representatives of businesses, logistics operators and government agencies from 40 countries.

At the forum, Kazakhstan presented the region’s potential as a new logistics hub between Asia and Europe. According to international institutions, over 200 million tonnes of cargo are transported annually along the Central Asian routes, while freight traffic along the Trans-Caspian corridor has more than tripled over the past three years, from 1.5 to 4.5 million tonnes. This confirms that the region is becoming a sought-after alternative to congested sea routes and is increasingly integrated into global supply chains.

During the panel discussion, Ainur Amirbekova stressed that Kazakhstan is already focusing on the speed, digitalisation and predictability of its corridors.

“Central Asia is rapidly changing its role in global logistics. The Trans-Caspian route is growing at record pace, dry ports are being modernised, and digital customs solutions are being introduced. Kazakhstan aims to make its corridors faster, more technologically advanced and more convenient for business,” she noted.

According to her, one of the key topics of the conference was cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hong Kong. “Hong Kong is the main gateway to Asia, while our region is the gateway to Europe. By combining these advantages, we can build a single seamless corridor Asia–Central Asia–Europe. This will open up new opportunities for exports, investment and business development across Eurasia,” Amirbekova added.

This year’s conference was held under the theme “New Trade Landscape: Collaborative Growth and Win–Win Cooperation”. Participants discussed the transformation of global supply chains, the role of innovation in logistics and new opportunities for international cooperation. The event was attended by representatives of DHL Express, GEODIS, HP, Procter & Gamble, Etihad Cargo, DP World Logistics and other global companies.

At the conference, Kazakhstan also presented its digital transit projects, including electronic certificates, e-customs, online cargo tracking and simplified transit procedures. These solutions help speed up border crossings and make routes more predictable.

Within ALMAC, the Kazakhstani delegation also held talks with leading global logistics operators and took part in a B2B session dedicated to the development of multimodal routes.

As part of the business programme of the conference, a B2B strategic session was held with the participation of PTC Shanghai.

In the exhibition area of the forum, more than 90 international companies showcased solutions in logistics, maritime transport, warehouse automation, intelligent cargo handling systems and aviation services.

Particular attention of visitors was drawn to the stand of the national operator Shyngar Trans Logistics Company, which presented Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics potential and its capabilities in transit and multimodal transportation.
