Continuation of training of Kazakhstani companies within the framework of the export acceleration program of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan – “QazTrade Accelerator”

A cycle of training seminars on the entry of Kazakhstani food companies into the Chinese market within the framework of the export acceleration program has ended.

On October 15, the “QazTrade” Center for Trade Policy Development of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with PwC experts, held a final webinar on the “peculiarities” of the Chinese market, which was held as part of the export acceleration program.

“Since the middle of summer, work has been actively continued on the acceleration program. We held only 4 training webinars. In addition, two-week one-to-one coaching sessions were held. Work with participants in the export acceleration program continues. During October-November, thematic individual / group coaching sessions are planned, providing for the preparation of enterprises for business meetings and signing contracts with business partners from China,” said Arman Abenov, the General Director of the “QazTrade” Trade Policy Development Center. Videos of all training seminars are posted on the website http://qaztrade.org.kz and on the pages in social networks of the Center and the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The speakers of the last webinar were representatives of PwC Kazakhstan, QazTech Ventures JSC and the International Trade Center (ITC), and highlighted such issues as: the main methods of transportation to China, technological scouting and cross-border e-commerce.

During the webinar, PwC Kazakhstan Senior Manager Myrza Sokurov presented a 150-page reference document “Instruction for an exporter of food products to China”. The document provides an analysis of key aspects of food export and practical recommendations for Kazakhstani companies entering the Chinese market.

The instruction also contains an overview of the food market in China, trade relations between Kazakhstan and China, specifics of the process of entering the market, development strategy and logistics.

All five sections were presented to the participants of the “QazTrade Accelerator” program as part of a series of training webinars.

Also, during his speech, Myrza Sokurov introduced the companies to the basic registration procedures required to start exporting to China, and an overview of logistics issues.

Chief expert of QazTech Ventures JSC Olzhas Bilyalov spoke about an alternative way of introducing innovations into the work of enterprises – scouting.

Scouting involves finding startups and technologies through open channels. QazTech Ventures JSC offers Kazakhstani companies assistance in the scouting

process by: (1) generating a request from the enterprise, (2) searching for suitable startups according to the request and (3) proposing the most suitable solutions. The company has access to a wide partner network in the form of accelerators, technology parks and hackathons, which makes it possible to search for suitable innovations more efficiently and in a short time. Olzhas Bilyalov also shared successful cases of using scouting in existing industries.

The next speaker of the training webinar, consultant of the International Trade Center (ITC) Natalia Kozlenkova, invited the participants of the acceleration program to participate in the Ready for Trade Central Asia program. The program is aimed at developing e-commerce among Kazakhstani enterprises and offers Kazakhstani companies practical knowledge and direct consulting support on entering online trading platforms. Each program participant will be assigned an individual ITC consultant. During the program, ITC employees will help you choose the most effective platform, considering the demand for the product of each participating company. The Ready for Trade Central Asia program is funded by the European Union and implemented in partnership with the QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center.

Kazakhstani companies participating in the acceleration program will continue training on how to effectively enter the Chinese market through individual coaching sessions with PwC international experts, after which negotiations with potential Chinese partners are expected to begin during November and December this year.
