Exports from Kazakhstan to Russia in January – June 2020 decreased by 19.4% and amounted to 2.5 billion US dollars.
The reduction in exports to Russia is justified by a decrease in the supply of such goods as: non-alloyed steel hot flat-rolled articles – by 45.1% or by 111.1 million US dollars (from 246.1 to 135.0 million US dollars ), iron-and-steel waste and scrap – by 71.8% or by 91.7 million US dollars (from 127.8 to 36.1 million US dollars ), iron ores and concentrates – by 16% or 54.2 million US dollars (from 338.4 to 284.2 million US dollars ), raw zinc – by 57.8% or 51.2 million US dollars (from 88.5 to 37.3 million US dollars ), natural gas – by 36.6% or by 44.9 million US dollars (from 122.7 to 77.8 million US dollars ).
At the same time, there is an increase in the supply of such goods as: ores and precious metal concentrates – by 94.1% or by 126 million US dollars (from 133.9 to 259.8 million US dollars ), rolling stock components – an increase by 4.2 times or 55.5 million US dollars (from 17.6 to 73.0 million US dollars ), zinc ores and concentrates – by 60.1% or 20.7 million US dollars (from 34.5 to 55.3 million US dollars ), plastic waste, cuttings and scrap – an increase by 12.4 times or 12.8 million US dollars (from 1.1 to 13.9 million US dollars ), cyanides – an increase by 15.1 times or 7.4 million US dollars (from 0.5 to 7.9 million US dollars ).
The main export goods from Kazakhstan to Russia are: iron ores and concentrates – 284.2 million US dollars (with a share of 11.3%), ores and precious metal concentrates – 259.8 million US dollars (10.3%), copper ores and concentrates – 169,9 million US dollars (6.7%), uranium – 161.6 million US dollars (6.4%), non-alloyed steel clad flat-rolled articles – 136.6 million US dollars (5.4%), non-alloyed steel hot flat-rolled articles – 135 million US dollars (5.4%), hard coal – 106.1 million US dollars (4.2%), non-alloyed steel cold flat-rolled articles – 95.3 million US dollars (3.8%), natural gas – 77.8 million US dollar (3.1%), rolling stock components – 73 million US dollars (2,9%). Imports to Kazakhstan from Russia in January – July 2020 decreased by 7% and amounted to 7.1 billion US dollars.
The reduction in imports from Russia is justified by a decrease in the import of such goods as pipes and tubes welded from ferrous metals – by 69.7% or 81 million US dollars (from 116.3 to 35.2 million US dollars ), freight railway carriages or tram cars – by 62.6% or by 78.1 million US dollars (from 124.8 to 46.7 million US dollars ), passenger cars – by 23.1% or 52.6 million US dollars (from 227.7 to 175.1 million US dollars ), trucks – by 70.7% or 40.8 million US dollars (from 57.7 to 16.9 million US dollars ), seamless ferrous pipes, tubes and profiles – by 30.9% or by 39.2 million US dollars (from 126.9 to 87.7 million US dollars ), steel structures made of ferrous metals – by 32.4% or 26.6 million US dollars (from 82.3 to 55.7 million US dollars ), natural gas – by 11.4% or by 25.7 million US dollars (from 225.3 to 199.6 million US dollars ).
At the same time, there is an increase in imports of such goods as: gold (including gold with platinum electroplating) raw or semi-finished or in powder form – by 54.6% or by 56 million US dollars (from 102.5 to 158.5 million US dollars ), car bodies – by 79% or 47.5 million US dollars (from 60.1 to 107.6 million US dollars ), oil products – by 20.1% or by 33 million US dollars (from 164.0 to 197.0 million US dollars ), rapeseed – an increase by 14.2 times or 28.3 million US dollars (from 2.1 to 30.4 million US dollars ), wheat – an increase by 4.7 times or 28.2 million US dollars (from 7.6 to 35.8 million US dollars ).The main imports to Kazakhstan from Russia are: natural gas – 199.6 million US dollars (with a share of 2.8%), oil products – 197 million US dollars (2.8%), passenger cars – 175.1 million US dollars (2.5%), gold (including gold plated with platinum), raw or semi-finished, or in the form of powder – 158.5 million US dollars (2.2%), ores and precious metal concentrates – 134.3 million US dollars (1.9%), tires – 119.3 million US dollars (1.7%), non-alloyed steel semi-finished articles – 117,6 mln.
