Kazakhstan invited the Turkic Speaking States to work together on the development of trade

On November 11-12, 2021, a conference on trade and economic cooperation between Turkey and Turkic Speaking States is being held in Istanbul (Republic of Turkey).

The participants of the CCTS note the dynamic growth of trade turnover between the participants; however, they observed that today’s indicator still does not reflect the potential level of mutual trade. Therefore, to date, the states annually trade with each other for $ 15 billion. At the same time, the main commodities of trade remain products of the petrochemical, metallurgical, machine-building and light industries – their volume is about $ 9.2 billion.

Deputy Director General of JSC “QazTrade” under the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Kulbatyrov, speaking at the panel session “Prospects in the development of the global economy and in the development of trade relations between Turkic Speaking States”, focused on the need to strengthen the joint work of the CCTS states to strengthen trade relations.

In order to effectively promote exports, strengthen trade potential and strengthen existing relationships, the role of cooperation and trade facilitation is indisputable. We need to work together to increase the trade potential of our countries and the entire region, – he said.

Kulbatyrov proposed to establish regular interaction of authorized organizations in the trade of the CCTS states, conduct joint monitoring of trading conditions between the countries, and prepare an annual Trade Review of all countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, with an analysis of existing barriers.

This will allow us to have visual information about the results of the organization’s cooperation and take timely measures to remove barriers to trade, – Kulbatyrov said.

According to the representative of QazTrade, the coordinated efforts of regional associations are particularly relevant in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic crisis and further sustainable development.

The Conference participants supported Kazakhstan’s proposal.
