On April 2–3, 2025, a trade and economic mission of Kazakhstan was successfully held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China. The event was organized by JSC “QazTrade” – Center for Trade Policy Development with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Xi’an.
The mission marked a significant step in strengthening bilateral economic ties between Kazakhstan and Shaanxi Province. As a result of the event, documents totaling $98 million were signed. These agreements will create favorable conditions for boosting exports of Kazakhstani products and establishing long-term business partnerships.
The Ministry of Trade and Integration, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China, and the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Xi’an played a key role in coordinating and carrying out the international mission, business meetings, and negotiations, while also making a significant contribution to organizational support.
Of particular note is the unique format of the QazTrade trade and economic mission, held for the first time on the premises of the Consulate General. The comprehensive support from Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions was an important step in strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding business contacts between Kazakhstan and China.
As part of the mission, a forum was held with the participation of the Minister of Trade and Integration, Mr. Arman Shakkaliev, along with an exhibition consisting of three displays styled as traditional yurts, showcasing products from domestic manufacturers.
In 2024, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Shaanxi Province amounted to $382.3 million, which is 2.4 times more than the previous year. These figures reflect the growing interest of the Chinese market in Kazakhstani goods and the high dynamics of bilateral trade relations.
Following the trade mission, QazTrade plans to further strengthen cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of the Shaanxi Committee for the Promotion of International Trade and AIJU Grain and Oil Industry Group. The signed agreements will facilitate the establishment of direct contacts between the business communities of both countries and open up new opportunities for Kazakhstani exporters.
