As part of the 22nd Kazakhstan–Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum, held in Omsk on 24–25 July 2026 with the participation of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, QazTrade Center for Trade Policy Development JSC organized a trade and economic mission for Kazakh entrepreneurs.
The event served as a practical platform for establishing direct business ties between companies from the two countries. More than 400 companies from Kazakhstan and Russia took part in the mission. Business representatives held B2B meetings, presented their products and manufacturing capabilities, and discussed prospects for mutual supplies, localization of production and the implementation of joint cooperation projects.
The Kazakh business delegation included more than 70 domestic manufacturers and service providers. The participating companies represented mechanical engineering, the agro-industrial sector, the food and chemical industries, the oil and gas sector, metallurgy, construction materials, information technology, education, healthcare, tourism and services.
A total of 18 documents were signed following the business programme, including commercial contracts, agreements and memoranda of cooperation. The arrangements cover industrial cooperation, mechanical engineering, the oil and gas and agro-industrial sectors, as well as the supply of food and industrial products, equipment, components, spare parts and organic fertilizers.
“For Kazakh businesses, the Russian market remains one of the priority markets for export development. The purpose of such missions is not only to provide companies with a platform for negotiations, but also to help them move towards concrete agreements, mutual supplies and joint projects. The documents signed in Omsk demonstrate the strong interest of businesses in both countries in expanding industrial cooperation and developing long-term partnerships,” said Ainur Amirbekova, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of QazTrade.
In the industrial and mechanical engineering sectors, the parties formalized their intentions to develop long-term production cooperation and mutual supplies of equipment, components and finished products. Separate arrangements provide for the supply of food products, organic fertilizers, as well as products and services for industrial enterprises.
In the agro-industrial sector, documents were signed between Kazakh producers and Russian trading and distribution companies. The agreements are aimed at expanding mutual trade, promoting Kazakh products in the Russian market and establishing sustainable supply channels.
A significant part of the agreements relates to digitalization and human capital development. The parties formalized cooperation in the application of artificial intelligence in higher education, digital healthcare, professional training, and scientific and educational collaboration.
Documents were also signed in the areas of tourism, water management and support for women’s entrepreneurship.
One of the key outcomes of the mission was the signing of a memorandum between QazTrade and the Omsk Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The document provides for joint efforts to expand trade and economic relations, promote the export potential of Kazakh manufacturers and establish direct contacts between businesses in Kazakhstan and the Omsk Region.
The trade and economic mission enabled companies from the two countries to translate business dialogue into concrete arrangements on mutual supplies, technological cooperation and the implementation of joint projects. The results create additional opportunities to expand the presence of Kazakh products in the Russian market and develop long-term production cooperation.
For reference: in January–May 2026, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia reached USD 10.9 billion, an increase of 9.6% compared with the same period of 2025.
