In Almaty, under the chairmanship of the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev, a Regional Export Council was held with the participation of the business of the megalopolis. The council’s agenda includes discussion of the current state and plans to expand sales markets for existing exporters, barriers to promoting domestic exports to foreign markets, as well as new products aimed at stimulating export activities and increasing export potential.
According to the results of nine months of 2021, the export of the processed industry in Almaty amounted to USD 1.6 billion, which is 33% higher than the same period (2020 – USD 1.2 billion).
Participants noted the growth of business activity in the use of instruments of state support for exporters.
So, this year, 35 companies from Almaty have become participants in two Programs for exporters – Export Acceleration Program and the assignment of an account on Alibaba.com «Gold» status. (23 companies were selected within the framework of the Export Acceleration Program, 12 became holders of the «Gold» status). The operator of the above financial and non-financial support instruments is a subsidiary of MTI RK – «QazTrade» JSC.
For 10 months of 2021, 14 companies received approval to reimburse part of their costs previously allocated to logistics and promotion of their own products abroad, in the amount of about 500 million tenge.
According to Vice Minister Kairat Torebayev, country export strategies developed specifically for the embassies of Kazakhstan in foreign countries will also stimulate the development of non-primary exports of domestic goods.
A special role is assigned to the trade and economic missions. This year there have already been 9 of them.
Aibek Sagynayev, Director of the project development department of «QazTrade» JSC, MTI RK, said that Kazakh exporters are given not only the opportunity to become participants in trade and economic missions abroad, but also to participate in industry exhibitions. «At the same time, the state reimburses business expenses for participation in these events. Of course, subject to the provision of a full package of documents stipulated by the rules of compensation», – explained Sagynayev. During a working visit to Almaty, Vice-Minister Torebayev K.K. also visited a number of exporting companies. Among them are the full cycle plant for the production of Hyundai cars, the production of disinfectants, household chemicals and cosmetics «Aurora Holding», the meat processing plant «Bizhan», the «Almaty Heavy Machine Building Plant» and the enterprises of the Eurasian energy plant in the Industrial Zone of Almaty.
