The investment forum «AQJAIYQ INVEST 2021» was held in the West Kazakhstan region in an online format. It was attended by representatives of the business community, the regional administration, Deputy General Director of QazTrade Assel Yegemberdieva, representatives of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakh Invest companies, AIFC, KazakhExport and others.
Within the framework of the investment forum, the region’s achievements in social and economic development and the investment potential of the WKO were presented.
West Kazakhstan region is one of the developed industrial and agricultural regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The economic potential of the region is quite high and stable. One of the region’s advantages is its favorable economic and geographical position relative to developed regions – it borders on five regions of the Russian Federation (Orenburg, Volgograd, Samara, Saratov, Astrakhan) and two regions of Kazakhstan (Atyrau and Aktobe).
There are over 60 active exporters in the region. Exports in 2020 amounted to US
$ 3.9 billion. Products, works and services are exported to more than 100 countries around the world. The main export volume falls on non-CIS countries such as Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Greece and France.
Assel Yegemberdieva presented tools to support exporters, and also talked about interaction with institutions to attract investment and support export-oriented investment projects. It was noted that exporters of the West Kazakhstan region are already actively using QazTrade support measures – 11 exporting companies of the region last year received reimbursement of part of export costs for 205 million tenge. 2 enterprises («Nurzhanar» JSC and «Kubley» LLP) participated in the export acceleration program.
In 2019-2020, three companies in the region («Nurzhanar» JSC, «Kubley» LLP, «Qazaqstantrade» LLP) received a «Golden account» on the Alibaba platform. At the request of exporters of the region, the necessary analytical and consulting materials for foreign economic activity are regularly provided.
In addition, Assel Yegemberdieva noted that QazTrade is actively working to attract foreign and domestic investors to export-oriented projects in Kazakhstan and expressed readiness to cooperate in the implementation of joint projects in the region:
«Our team is ready to prepare a «market study», market analysis for goods of interest, potential and forecast for the development of the industry, contacts of existing exporters on cooperation issues of interest».
