Country Cooperation Program with OECD
Kazakhstan’s engagement with the OECD began in 2008 under the EurasianCompetitivenessProgramme (ECP), which includes 13countries in Central Asia, the Caucasus and Eastern Europe.
In January 2015, in Davos, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and the Secretary General of OECD signed the Country Programme of Cooperation
During the period from 2013 to 2016, Kazakhstan co-chaired the Central Asian Initiative of the OECD Eurasian Competitiveness Programme jointly with the European Union.
In 2017, the OECD Eurasia Week was held in Almaty from 23 to 25 October, with over 400 participants from 13 countries of the Eurasian region.
QazTrade cooperation with OECD
From 2016 to 2019, “QazTrade” CTPD JSC conducted analytical and consultancy support for Kazakhstan’s cooperation with OECD.
The experts of “QazTrade” CTPD JSC regularly prepared statisticalandanalyticalinformation for government agencies and the OECD,organizedregularmeetings of OECD and Kazakhstan experts as part of official OECD missions.
Overall, for the period 2016-2019, in the direction of OECD cooperation, the implementation of 18Reviewsoutof33 has already been completed, and accession to 29OECDlegalinstruments has been initiated by “QazTrade” CTPD JSC., of which 20 have been confirmed
OECD Committees
Kazakhstan actively participates in 35workingbodies. In 16 committees and working bodies Kazakhstan has the status of «Invitee», in 10-«Participant», in 7-«Partner», and in 2 -«Associate».
The work to upgrade the status in these OECD committees was carried out by government agencies in cooperation with “QazTrade” CTPD JSC.
OECD is structured around 250 committees, working groups and expert groups. Each specialized committee is composed of representatives of 35 member countries. They meet to develop new ideas and assess progress made in narrower areas.

Developed programmes
In order to intensify work in the medium term on cooperation with OECD, QazTrade experts, together with the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, developed and approved the ProgrammeofCooperationbetweenKazakhstanandOECDuntil2025 (hereinafter, the Programme), and developed an ActionPlanfortheimplementationoftheProgramme.
“QazTrade” CTPD JSC, together with government agencies, established MinisterialTeams on priority areas of cooperation with OECD, in which the experts of “QazTrade” CTPD JSC were identified as coordinators. In addition, introductoryseminars for all participants of the Teams were organised.
For the period of 4 years of work on interaction with OECD and realization of analytical and consultancy support to state bodies on cooperation with OECD, “QazTrade” CTPD JSC builtupaclearsystemofworkandformedinstitutionalmemoryinthisdirection.
